Jurong Point Mongkok Flashmob

The summer holidays are fast drawing to a close, and Viva has gone on a tiny little break to let our members rest and play before we get back into the full swing of trainings! But in the meantime, some of our Viva dancers were involved in a fun filled project choreographed by our instructor Michelle from Dance Dynamix!

We were involved in a flashmob to celebrate the opening of Mongkok Street at Jurong Point. The flashmob involved singers, dancers, some acting, and a guest appearance from a Hong Kong TV star. Viva dancers were dressed up as street peddlers, axe gang members and even as triad members!

Here are the axe gang brandishing their axes and rehearsing their slick moves.

What a change from our usual costumes of corsets, garters and high heels! Meet Viva's street peddlers Ye Mei, Carin and Shermine in their khaki bermudas and white t shirts waving their feather boas at you!

Here's Shaun and Zhi Kai with instructor Sam who was dancing alongside us as the leader of the axe gang!

Our suave and handsome Axe Gang ft. Chee How and Shaun from Viva.

And last but not least our little street peddlars ft. Ye Mei, Carin and Shermine from Viva!

A very enthusiastic end to our flashmob!

This flashmob was a rare chance for our dancers to take part in such a big project involving so many other performers, and we sure had fun! Perhaps we should have a Latin flashmob in NUS sometime soon?

Do I hear a resounding Yes??

Love,
Viva
