Student Achievement Awards Ceremony: NUS Open Ballroom Championship 2014

Cactus and auditions are finally over, and we can sit down and recap some of the very exciting things that have been happening over the past few months. 

First up, we are so proud of the NUS Ballroom club for clinching a new initiative award at the 2014 Student Achievement Awards for their organisation of the inaugural NUS Ballroom Championships. The competitive team of the NUS Ballroom club put in a lot of effort in ensuring that the competition went well without a hitch.

As the performance team of NUS Ballroom Club, Viva Latinus was happy to be able to send a show dance team to the NUS Open Ballroom Championship 2014,

To let you in on a little secret, the dancers only had about a week or 2 to prepare for this competition because we signed up late (oops). Given the short time they had to prepare for this, we think they were awesome and did Viva proud. 

The item they showcased was If I were a Boy, an emotional rumba piece to the song by Beyonce. 

Many of us simply love this piece because it is such a poignant one, and evokes plenty of emotion in us when watching it. Viva felt so proud to watch this item on the competition floor.
